First Stone Ministries Board appoints interim Executive Director

Oklahoma City, OK – The First Stone Ministries Board would like to announce the appointment of Laura Leigh Stanlake as interim Executive Director of First Stone Ministries, effective August 1, 2023. She has faithfully served First Stone Ministries for 30 years as Certified Biblical Counselor, groups coordinator and as Director of Women’s Ministries. Throughout her career she has faithfully served alongside Stephen Black, who announced his resignation to the FSM Board in late June, while on sabbatical as Executive Director.

Stephen Black has admirably served First Stone for more than 30 years in the forefront of the sexual battle which still rages today in America’s cultural landscape. He has been a clear voice of biblical truth and the message of transformation in response to the erosion of truth regarding human sexuality and Christian identity in some of the Church body. The FSM Board is providing a 6-month separation package that will enable him to segue comfortably into the next phase of what God is calling him to.

We are pleased that Mr. Black and the FSM staff were able to minister together in July at the American Family Association’s Marriage Family Life Conference in Tupelo, MS, where Mr. Black opened the conference as the keynote speaker. He and the FSM staff participated in panel discussions, provided conference counseling, and represented Mr. Black’s book, Freedom Realized, and other ministry materials.

The FSM Board and staff wish Stephen the very best in the plans that God has for him, and that our common ministry will provide broader outreach to expand our shared goal of rebuilding the foundation of America’s Christian culture, through sexual integrity and wholeness and marriage between one man and one woman together in the image of God.
